Privacy

The message you paste was written to you by somebody else, and they never agreed to have it processed by software. So it stays in your browser, it is deleted seven days after you last touch it, and the Shred button deletes it immediately. One optional feature can send the bits to our own server to group them by meaning; it is off until you switch it on, and it explains itself first. There are no accounts.

Ibex runs on your device. The message you paste and the reply you write are held in your browser's IndexedDB, and by default nothing is uploaded. There is one exception, and it is off unless you turn it on: grouping bits by meaning sends the bits of the pasted message, never your reply, to our own AI service to be measured for similarity. It asks before it runs, it is scoped to one message at a time, and you can stop it. There is no account to create, and we keep no copy of your message on our servers. We do record which actions happen, as event names and counts, so we can tell whether the tool is used at all; those reports never contain any part of the message or your reply.

What we collect

Your rights

Everything Ibex holds about the message you pasted is on your device, so there is nothing stored with us to request. You can save your draft reply to a file at any time. Shred deletes everything immediately and permanently. Doing nothing also works: sessions are deleted automatically seven days after you last touch them. Clearing your browser's site data removes everything as well. If you switched on grouping by meaning, switching it off stops anything further being sent; what was already measured was already sent, and was discarded rather than stored.
